So here's the scoop:
While our friends were living with us this spring, we were introduced to a new brand of toilet paper: Scott Tissue. Yes, I am fully aware the Scott is not a new brand of toilet paper, but it was new to us, "Must see TP", as it were. At the time, we roundly mocked our friends because Scott Toilet paper is merely one step up from sand paper. That stuff is not cushy; it is not soft; one does not mistake Scott Tissue for anything comforting and pleasant.
But it lasts.
It lasts a long, long, loooooong time. Or maybe it just feels that way.
Ok, so maybe I'm exaggerating. It doesn't really scratch. And it is more pleasant than having kittens lick the bottom of one's foot. But it ain't ever gonna be mistaken for cushy.
Charmin is cushy. Charmin feels really, really nice. But I can go through a Charmin roll in about 2-3 days.
So the question around our house is: economy or cush on your tush.
Discuss.

the economy lasts longer because you're waaay more unlikely to go back for "seconds" or "thirds" (so to speak...) like you would with something that feels really cushy on your tushy. just mho.
i use Royale triple ply. Charmin is too flat. doesn't really do anything.
I got to have the Charmin. I know this is TMI, but get a fissure or a 'roid and the Charmin is WORTH.EVERY.PENNY.
unless there's a big sale on a brand in between the charmin and the scott, go for something in the middle. can you put a price on a comfy butt?
oferpetesake! I told you: Target brand. Cushy, cheap ... you just don't care that a roll doesn't last as long.
You're a Targeteer...you should know this by now.
Scott has a new "Extra Soft" variety that is not bad. The regular Scott 1000 is so THIN you have to get a big wad just to keep your hands dry. But it does last!
See now, I see Lisa talking about Scott and I go straight to Scott "Anita's brother and my brother in law" Scott.
And I'd just like to say, I don't think any of us want to be trying to make sense of that comment in that way.
So, yeah! When I read Lisa's comment, too, I thought that my brother (Scott for the rest of you) had very strong opinions about TP. Just now, I realized that it's LISA with the strong opinions and the search for softer Scott tissue! ;-)
Yes, softness is important. But I still do like the economy and laziness of not replacing the role every couple of days...
So (did we not cover this before in anticipation of this very post?) is there a Costco in your neck of the woods? If so, I can't recommend their store brand (Kirkland) highly enough. You get a huge bale, divide it between however many bathrooms you have, and it will last you forever. It's plenty soft enough too -- not ultra-cushy like Charmin, but far from "crispy" like some of those other off-brands. Try it and see if you like it. If not Costco, then maybe Sam's Club or something along thoselines offers a similar alternative?
Definitely cush at chez selzach. I get enough of the economy tp at work.
Hubby calls the non-cush stuff John Wayne tp: "Rough, tough, and don't take sh*t off nobody."
Scott is the SHIT.i feel like charmin makes me go back to the bathroom.it sounds insane but it how im feeling since i moved in with grandma. Picking up some scotts tomorrow this bull shit.since ive moved here and began using charmin i go to the bathroom 2 to3 times a day wtf is going on?
